The 49ers and Falcons each released their first practice participation reports of the week, and for the most part, the 49ers are in fairly good shape on the injury front. Obviously they are missing a few guys on injured reserve, but for the guys actually on the 53-man roster, all is relatively well. They have their usual rash of shoulder injuries, but the two biggest names, Justin Smith and Joe Staley, appear to be good to go. Both were full participants on Wednesday.
The big name on the Falcons injury report is defensive end John Abraham. He aggravated an ankle injury last week, and missed the second half. He is expected to play on Sunday, but if he is limited it could really cost the Falcons in their pass rush. Abraham leads the team with ten sacks, and will be the one to watch on Sunday.
