We take a look at a statement released by Michael Crabtree's attorney, discussing the sexual assault investigation involving Crabtree.
The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Michael Crabtree's attorney, Joshua M. Bentley, has released a statement regarding Crabtree and the sexual assault investigation. Naturally it is a fairly bland statement, but worth noting nonetheless:
"On Friday, January 18, 2013, Michael Crabtree voluntarily met with the San Francisco Police Department and provided a statement. Michael fully cooperated with the inspectors and will continue to do so throughout the investigation. We have confidence in the process. Out of respect and integrity for the process, we have no further comment at this time."
Officer Gordon Shyy of the San Francisco Police Department told NFL.com that the alleged victim did not contact police until a few days after the alleged assault, which might help explain why Crabtree was not questioned about the incident until Friday.
As reported yesterday, Crabtree did make the trip to Atlanta, and is expected to play and start against the Falcons in the NFC Championship Game.
