How to use GIF Oracle, how to hide images/GIFs in comments

Earlier this week, SB Nation unveiled the GIF Oracle to the comments section. The GIF Oracle will auto-reply to comments asking for GIFs. For some this has been a ton of fun, for others, it has been an annoyance. Well, I wanted to provide some basic info that will be of some help. I'd also like to state that like any shiny new toy, its use is already starting to decline.

1. How to use GIF Oracle

Some people have been typing in "@oracle gif me" and then random words. GIF Oracle actually responds to specific commands. The list of words is available HERE. It includes:

angry
astros
blowedup
catch
celebration
confusion
destruction
disbelief
dread
drinking
drive
falling
fandisaster
fangreatness
fanmisconduct
flopping
gloating
greatness
groin
gross
jackass
jerks
nottrying
overjoyed
punting
sad
sadchildren
supernatural
terrible
unsettling
victorino
weirdo

2. How to hide images/GIFs in comments

If you do not want to see GIFs or images when you first load comments, you have two options:

1. You can scroll over the picture/GIF and click the Hide Image option that will show up

2. You can adjust your account settings to hide ALL pictures and GIFs. To do this, Click the link to your user profile (upper right of the page) and click Account Settings. Scroll to the middle of the page and you will find an option for hiding images in comments. Click that box, hit Save at the bottom of the page and you're good!

It is worth noting that if you follow the second set of instructions, immediately above the option for hiding images in comments, you can also hide member signatures.

If you have any questions, let me know in the comments.
