The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals meet up in a fairly important early season divisional matchup this Sunday at Candlestick Park. The two teams released their first practice participation reports of the week, and it is not a surprise to see Ray McDonald sitting out Wednesday's practice session. McDonald suffered a partially torn biceps muscle. He has said he will play through the injury and get surgery in the offseason, and I imagine he will be fairly limited in practice over the course of the season. We'll wait and see how much he participates the next two days.
Nnamdi Asomugha remains on the injury list, listed as limited with his knee injury. Tramaine Brock has shot past him on the depth chart, and at some point we might find out if Nnamdi is becoming a healthy scratch each week. Brock has stepped up in a big way, and there is no reason to go back to Nnamdi at this point.
The interesting listing is Colin Kaepernick. He is listed as having a foot injury, but was a full participant in practice. He showed up on the injured list with a foot issue a couple weeks ago, but was not listed last week. There hasn't been any discussion about what the issue is exactly, so we're left to wonder. And I've got nothing.
