Fooch's Update: Vernon has been ruled OUT for the game with a concussion.
Davis was involved in a pass play with under seven minutes left in the second quarter. He appeared to catch the ball and fumble as he went down and hit his head. The play was ruled incomplete, and upheld on review. Shortly after that, Davis was seen walking off the field with a trainer, and without his helmet. Sideline reporter Laura Okmin reported after that that he was being tested for a concussion.
This injury follows the team's loss of Garrett Celek earlier in the game with a hamstring injury. This leaves Vance McDonald as the only healthy full-time tight end. Defensive tackle Demarcus Dobbs played some tight end last year, and can help as an extra blocker. Additionally, the tea frequently uses offensive linemen as extra blockers in heavy sets. The team's offense works out of two-tight end sets quite frequently, so we'll see how this affects play-calling the rest of the way (depending on when or if Davis returns).
