From a recent press conference with Jim Harbaugh, the 49ers Head Coach:
Is Patton a candidate to go on IR, or do you expect him that he'll be playing at some point again this season?
"I anticipate he'll be playing again. And, doing really well, came out of his boot less than a week ago, a couple days ago and looked really good, Monday or Tuesday, and looks really good. So, I think ahead of schedule for Quinton."
Harbaugh is not one to give out too much information, but this is great news. This means we may get to see some dance moves in the very near future!
There is one other great piece of news that came out today. It may not seem relevent at first, but bear with me. It is very important.
Kaepernick's foot is no longer on the injury report.
What is the relevence? What does Kap's foot have to do with Quinton coming back? It's quite simple when you think it through. The best QB to WR tandems seem to know when the other will break, when the other needs to get rid of the ball. The 7-11 tandem has already started forming this vital bond, and the evidence is the sympathy pains that Kap was feeling for the General! Is is mere coincidence that Kap's foot injury just happens to start when Patton's did, and stop after the boot was removed?
I THINK NOT.
It is an exciting time to not only be on the bandwagon, but to be a 49er fan. Manningham is coming back against the Panthers. Crabtree has started practicing. The General is out of the boot. Does anyone think that Quinton Patton has just sat around eating cheetos while the injury was healing? Remember, this is the same guy that tried to show up early for training camp, the same guy that took mental reps, the same guy that with a HAND injury was catching passes with the other hand! Plus, now he has increased competition. He will rise to the occasion, and the drive to succeed will propel him to heights not seen in many, many years.
The WR drought is over my friends and fellow bandwagoners. The cold and broken hallejuah will be no more! And best of all, I won't have to mutilate a Bon Jovi song!
Be prepared to be amazed and mystified at the second half of the 49er season! The 49ers haven't even begun to show their best moves, and it will be GLORIOUS when #6 is hefted up by a 49er team that will have a 7-11 connection to look forward to for many, many years.
