Cosell on Crabtree/Looney

Senior Producer of NFL Films Greg Cosell chatted with Tom Tolbert on KNBR last night and shared his thoughts on what he saw from Michael Crabtree in Sunday's win over the Rams:

I actually thought he ran pretty well. I would guess he probably played about 40 plays. He looked pretty quick, pretty fluid. He obviously gives them a receiving dimension they were lacking. Not only did you see that on plays where he didn't get the ball, but you saw it on the hitch and go he caught for 60 yards....Crabtree is a very interesting player, because I think he's more of an intermediate vertical threat than people give him credit for....I'm going to be very anxious to see as they move forward with him how that impacts Kaepernick.

(on Joe Looney filling in for Alex Boone)

I gotta tell you - I thought the Looney kid, who I remember watching when he was at Wake Forest, who came in at right guard when Boone moved to left tackle - I thought he played pretty well. I thought he did well in the run game. I thought he was pretty athletic getting to the second level. I thought he did a pretty good job in pass protection, so I didn't view them as being dramatically hurt at right guard.
