I'll go ahead and preface the post by apologizing. You might recognize me as the guy who was a complete dick and deleted the first Ask Field Gulls post back when the Hawks and Niners played back in week 2 and posted a second Ask Field Gulls post. It didn't go as swimmingly as I might have hoped. So, I'm sorry I was a turd about that whole thing. Onwards to the good stuff.
Here we are in Week 14 of the 2013 NFL season. The Hawks are an astonishing 11-1 after a season that has been defined by some pretty uneven performances. A horrific start against the Texans in week 4 ended with a W. An excellent start against Andrew Luck's Colts team ended in our only L this season. We had a more difficult time against the Titans than a lot of people suspected we would have. Then we had the two game stretch against the Rams and Bucs that included a goal line stand to end one game and a field
gull goal in overtime to win the other. However, since then the Seahawks have outscored their last three opponents 108-37. While two of those games were against the Falcons and the Vikings, the other was against the Saints. Their prolific offense was kept in check while our offense put up 27 points (not to mention another 7 by the defense) on their significantly improved defense.
It would seem both the Seahawks and the 9ers are coming into this game pretty healthy. Crabtree is back for you guys. We have Avril, Clemons, and Okung back. (Okung started in Week 2 against you, but sustained a foot injury that kept him out about 8 weeks.) For other guys, it's a little early to tell the availability of other players. LT Staley could be out for you with a knee injury, and Percy Harvin may have to be kept on the sideline because of his hip. I may be missing some other folks on your end, but I'm sure you'll bring us up to speed.
Ask away with your questions. If anyone feels the urge to do anything trollish, head over the the page Fooch created for that specific purpose. You won't find me there. I'd sooner do something that lands me in one of those painful videos that Daniel Tosh highlights during his show. That includes putting my head in a crocodiles mouth. Just saw that one on a rerun tonight. Let's keep things civil here, though. Frankly, after dealing with the Saints fans, I'm excited to talk to you guys.
And yes, the fanpost title is a reference to Terminator 2.
