Golden Nuggets: The Alex Smith Edition

USA TODAY Sports

Monday, February 18, 2013 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

It's another edition of the Nuggets without much to talk about. Yesterday's Randy Moss debate was great. Lots of good points brought up on both sides of the issue. But, there's only one opinion that matters, and that's Harbaalke. By Harbaalke, I mean the entire brain trust. Harbaugh had nothing but nice things to say about him during the year. How he feels after the Super Bowl is a piece of information that might never leave the inner sanctum. It's fun to imagine the guys in some sort of bunker underneath 4949 Centennial, with a wall of screens monitoring movements and making decisions.

Today's fun time topic is Alex Smith. I didn't choose it as much as it chose us. There's only 5 articles today and 3 of them are about Alex. Where will he go? Will someone take a trade? What's his trade value? So much speculation will surround this topic for the next few weeks. What do you think will happen?

Let's have a competition. Where will Alex Smith land and how will he get there? Anyone who gets the right answer is, in all honesty, not going to receive a thing, other than all of our respect and admiration. So give it a go. Oh, and I'm not playing. I've got no freaking clue what's going to happen to him. Do you?

And entering the realm of fantasy, BASG gives us a trade proposal for the ages. The 49ers have an excess of picks, and the Raiders have squandered so many of them, that they could use some of ours. What do they have that we need? | Raiders and 49ers should at least consider a trade (with each other) (BASG)
