Regardless of your personal opinion of me, I don't think anyone at NN would suggest that I'm the kind of fan who looks for excuses. I don't blame refs or other external influences. I am now.
I don't watch boxing, or MMA. Soccer is unacceptable. I don't watch the NBA anymore... might as well watch figure-skating, which I also don't watch. I don't watch sports that I can't trust. After this game, my criticisms of the team (especially the coaches) aside, I no longer trust the NFL. The fix was in.
I'm not the histrionic, conspiratorial, or whining type. I'm the 100% accountable, all the time, type.
This game killed the NFL for me. I'll probably still watch the occasional game and I'll always check up on the 49ers. I have a business and a life that I have to attend to and I cannot devote emotional energy into a sport that I cannot trust at the expense of those things.
The 49ers should have won this game. It's really as simple as that. The fix was in and the NFL got its desired result. I won't endorse it though. I won't watch regularly, buy their cable packages, and I'll never buy their merchandise. As far as I'm concerned, after thirty years, the NFL can go right to hell.
Am I being a poor loser? Probably, but I never have been before. Am I overreacting? Maybe, and it breaks my heart. I love football but I guess I need to start following college a bit more aggressively, especially now that they have a playoff. This game just killed it for me.
Screw you NFL... screw you.
