First and foremost, I would like to wish you condolences on the loss in the Super Bowl. As the brother and brother-in-law of 49er fans, I definitely was strongly hoping to see the 49ers win the Super Bowl this year. Additionally, I really like Jim Harbaugh. Since his days at Stanford, I have really liked him and always thought he would be a great NFL Head Coach. Unfortunately, the Jaguars did not get to hire him and Harbaugh ended up with the 49ers. Seeing as I did have the connection to the team, I was kind of happy, but I still cannot say I am thrilled seeing Harbaugh not on the Jaguars sideline (although I am more optimistic this year with Gus Bradley coming in than I was with Mike Mularkey last year).
Having said all of that let me reassure you that not all is bad. As an "outsider", I cannot help to look at the 49er team and see what I might suggest is the most complete team in the NFL. While I do think that the secondary is an area or concern, I do think that this one offseason is enough to fix it. Couple that with Manningham coming back healthy, and perhaps A.J. Jenkins progressing to the point that he can see the field next year, and I would be pretty confident that this team could make it back to the Super Bowl numerous times in the coming years.
My final point is the one I really came here for, and that is to usher in the offseason for you. As a Jaguar fan, the offseason and the draft in particular has been on my mind since somewhere around mid-October. Something I began last year over at Big Cat Country is something I like to call "Bunch of Mocks". Simply put, I form a bunch of mock drafts and have them discussed. This year, I figured I would try my luck with another team and provide their fans with the ability to see an "outsider's" take on the team and how he might suggest this team would look to improve through the draft. One point I would like to make before I close is that I really never show up to this site, so I doubt I will really be checking the comments on this one. Having said that, do realize I may choose to check back, so I really would not like it to find comments along the lines of "this dude is a total crackhead, and I would like nothing more than to see him and punch him in the balls for this stupidity."
(If the chart below looks a bit weird, I apologize. I am no expert with HTML, and I think something might have gotten screwed up)
