A year after a brutal loss to the New York Giants in the NFC Championship Game, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is once again using the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am to get over a tough loss. Coach Harbaugh is paired with fellow amateur Matt Cain, along with pros Jason Day and Matt Bettencourt (Full pairing scheduled PDF). They will tee off today at 8:22 a.m. PT, Friday at 10:01 a.m. and Saturday at 9:06 a.m.

A year ago, the big story for 49ers fans was Alex Smith serving as Jim Harbaugh's caddy at Pebble Beach. There was some discussion that this year would see Harbaugh caddying for Alex Smith. I'm guessing the potential end of their working relationship in San Francisco might mean that was quickly removed as a possibility. I find myself wondering if that will be brought up by the media down at Pebble Beach.

Coach Harbaugh will likely get a few comments in with the media at some point this week. I doubt we get much detail, but we'll keep an eye out for anything interesting.
