What the Anquan Boldin trade means: wise moves

There is no other way to begin this article than to say that if a wide receiver beats your team in the Super Bowl, to go get him on our side!

And the 49ers did just that, trading for Anquan Boldin, the Ravens WR who upstaged Crabtree putting up similar numbers but doing so with the Super Bowl champions.

And the 49ers were wise to get Boldin instead of Percy Harvin, who would have upstaged Crabtree once again by taking away some passes that would normally head for him (no. 15). Crabtree is the go-to-receiver, so naturally he should be seeing most of the passes going his way. Granted, Harvin is the marquee prime time wide receiver, but the 49ers wanted the team strong (strengthened) on all fronts instead of getting one premier player they would have to depend on to be the ultimate playmaker. Boldin is going to strengthen the wide receiving corps as a whole by becoming another threat that would only frustrate opposing teams with their game planning, as they have to deal with the explosive QB Kaepernick.

I don't know if Boldin will lose yet another step as he is 33-years old, but the 49ers are filled with legends who have the tradition of running "the hill," and as AJ Jenkins was supposed to go running on that bloody hill, I wouldn't be surprised if Boldin found out about it and sent a vampire bat to check it out.

With that said, check out Breaking Dawn 2, the newest DVD which hit all stores on March 2nd, 2013. Once Boldin is back from his trip to Africa, I am sure he will buy one as soon he kisses American soil, which I am sure he will because he just landed on the Raven's biggest threat, the San Francisco 49ers.

He is going to lick away any bad blood between the Harbaugh brothers, but end up sucking the Raven's blood for a change.

Tit for tat, John!
