Most mock drafts and so-called experts have the 49ers taking a CB or DB with one If not both of their first two picks in next months draft, however today the Niners, just resigned Safety Darcel McBath. The Forty Niners are loaded at the position on paper, they now have a backfield with Rogers, Brown, Culliver, Brock, and Cox at CB, and at Safety, with the addition of Dahl, and McBath, competing along side Whittner, and Spillman, and don't let me forget to mention the youngsters Robinson, and Thomas the niners already have 11 in the backfield on a team that doesn't have many roster spots available, with a whole bunch of picks available in next months draft. Depending on how the Niners feel about the Backs they have now, I can see them addressing other needs first, or just going for the best available talent; for example WR. We have Manningham, for one more season, and he is coming of a major injury, Crabtree will be a free agent and you can bet he's going to want a MAXED out deal, this could turn into two key departures after this season, possibly three with the one year six million dollar deal that Boldin, is brings with him; that leaves K.Williams as the only proven receiver on the team, and he hasn't exactly played like a starter and is also coming off a major injury. Last years first round draft selection A.J. Jenkins didn't have a catch in his rookie campaign, Hall, and Lockette, are also unproven. The 49ers not only have uncertainty at FS for the upcoming season, they could have the same problem at the WR position as well, and depending on who's available in the draft, I can see the niners looking at WR If they value a player higher than a SAFETY with a second round pick. This is after all the pick that will replace A.Smith in the second round, with them addressing the issue on D-line with the first pick. My prediction is NT or WR with the first two picks, I actually wouldn't be surprised If the niners didn't even address the back field in the first two rounds at all. When it comes to addressing a receiver spot, R.Woods out of USC seem to be a good fit, I doubt If Harbaugh will waste a pick on an SC player, but it's Baalke call. Woods is a proven junior, who is going under the radar after a disappointing win vs loss season at SC, however If you watched USC games this past year, you can see that the game plan revolved around(WR) M.Lee a sophomore. I don't see the 49ers keeping Manningham after next season, and that's If he doesn't lose his spot to Lockette before the season starts, that is 1.5 million you combine with 6 million of Boldins dollars available for M.crabtree after next season but eventually the Niners will have to redo Kaepernicks contract, thats Super Bowl starter and NFC champion QB, Collin Kaepernick, unless you're going for broke for both Crabtree, and Kaepernick after next season, then it might make sense and save some dollars addressing WR early again in this years draft, and then things aren't so bad at the end of next season, after all the 49ers are a team that is quote on quote "BUILT FOR THE FUTURE"
