Is KC setting themselves up to be SF-lite?

With their moves this afternoon (re-signing Bowe and Colquitt, tagging Albert), it got me thinking that the Chiefs may be trying to build their team around a model like ours (at least, the 2011 + pre-Kap 2012 model).

Game manager QB (Smith/Smith), strong offensive line, strong running back (Gore/Charles), one stud WR (Crabtree/Bowe), 3-4 defense with playmakers in the front 7 (we have Willis/Bowman/Smiths, they have Hali/Houston/D. Johnson and will probably draft a defender if they can't trade out of #1) and a hard hitting free safety (Goldson/Berry). They're even investing heavily in keeping a top-tier punter.

Am I reading too much into this, or do you think there could be some pattern here?
