I'm sure some of you have seen the headlines that a small school receiver possibly broke Chris Johnson's 40 record at 4.19. Yes, it is unofficial, but the other two attempts were 4.27 and 4.41. He stumbled in his slowest time. What this tells me is this kid is fast. Maybe the official time is more like 4.3, but that's still fast.
He played for Northern Iowa, which I'm sure he didn't face the best competition. I did take the time to look at some tape on him and he showed good skills at adjusting to the ball and the ability to make the difficult catch. He definitely looked better at catching, route running, and adjusting to the ball than the Goodwin guy from Texas. The Goodwin guy will be a bust at receiver. On tape he isn't running all deep routes showing his speed. The competition he has faced isn't top notch, but look at some of the catches he makes. He makes his QB look good.
There is definitely more information needed on this kid! Maybe we can get a profile on him. Someone with more time and resources than me. My thoughts on him is that he would be a good pick in rounds 5 and later. Sinkfield is 6'1, which isnt a big receiver, but if he's Anywhere close to a 4.3 and translates to the field he would be a good deep threat. Victor Cruz is only 6'. I've seen some mocks, which are extremely reliable, have Goodwin going somewhere in 3-4. (Reliable=Sarcasm). With a lot of late round picks Sinkfield could be a dark horse. Could he be our Terrell Davis/Tom Brady?
Thank you for reading! What do you think?
