I don't have enough 'scouting' ability to say WHO we should draft. Instead I have played GM and done a couple of trades. I think the trades make sense and are within the realm of possibility when you consider the teams I traded with:
1> Chicago: Have 6 picks:1.20 / 2.18 / 4.20 / 5.20 / 6.20 / 7.20. Right now they are at $125,539,822 on the cap. They have a new staff as well, so having more picks so they can start team 'changes' makes sense.
2> Carolina: Have 6 picks: 1.14 / 2.12 / 4.11 / 5.15 / 6.14 / 7.13: Cap is at $127,263,157. Again, way over the cap and maybe time for some 'changes'. The "value" for this trade is 18 pts in CAR's favor (not inc. the 2014 pick). A 7-9 record, with that much salary...is that good enough?
So with that out of the way, here are the trades:
TRADE 1> SF>>CHI
CHI give: 2.18 (50)
SF give: 3.12 (74) / 3.31 (93) / 5.31 (157) / 6.31 (189) / 7.21 (211).
The "points" are exactly 0.6 out in case you are interested, if anything I would try that deal using the 7.31 instead of the 7.21 at first since it is a 5:1 ratio. It gives CHI a lot more picks to work with and moves us up into another 2nd round pick (that makes 4 picks in the top 62)
TRADE 2> SF>>CAR
SF give: 2.2 (34)
CAR give: 2.12 (44) / 4.12 (106) / 2014 4th round pick
So that leaves the Forty Niners with the following picks in 2013:
1.31(31)--2.12(44)--2.18(50)--2.29(61)--4.12(106)--4.31(125)--5.24(150)--6.12(170)--7.31(221)
So instead of 12+3 picks, we would now have 9+3. And Carolina's 4th next year
