I have read a lot of speculation on whether the 49ers will draft Ertz/Eifert with one of their first two draft picks, and, while I am not opposed to that, I was wondering about this:
What if the 49ers just used Anquan Boldin or Vernon Davis to fill the 'Swiss-Army Knife' role that Delanie Walker had? Both are big and physical and good blockers... If Jenkins is any better than he was last year or even if Manningham/Williams come back at full strength, the receiving core would not be hurt having Boldin help in the backfield or at the TE/Slot positions. They could do a lot of things with Vernon Davis in the backfield; maybe even some of the shovel option...

It would be nice to see them use the higher picks to address the positions of real need, such as D-Line/D-Backfield, and to leave the TE2 spot as developmental if necessary.
