Engaging in a little light speculation

Standing 6'6", weighing in at 304lbs and running a 4.78 40 time there is a prospect I'd love the Niners to sign...but not with a draft pick.

No, performing at a super-regional combine and by all accounts impressing, 21 yr Old Brit Lawrence Okoye wants to play in the NFL. I, obviously, as a fellow Brit would love to see one on my favourite team. So yes I am engaging in homerism cos this guy has never played the game. But he has all the tools. Did I mention he is a national record holder (ok its the Discus but that still counts as a sport). He has performed on an International stage wowing the home crowd with a 12th place finish at the London Olympics, I know 12th , but he did compete in the Olympics and that is legit.

Mainly though he is projecting as a D-Lineman and Defense (after special teams) is in my opinion the best place for a former rugby player. He played at quite a high level for his age group and trialed with a couple of top teams before turning his attention to the 'Olympics in my home town' dream. He'll be a decent tackler, one of the few consistent skills between Grid Iron and Rugby although slightly different and he will likely be disciplined and capable of taking good pursuit angles.

Mostly though he's a raw ball of skills that could be moulded on a practice squad and who better to do it than a guy like Jim Tomsula - you know it makes sense!

Of course I don't think the 9ers should spend a draft pick on him and he is going to take time to develop but the 9ers do keep practice squadders involved all the time and that would suggest the best kind of environment and undrafted, what do they have to lose.

That and he could take the team round to see his family and have tea & biscuits when they visit London again this year
