2013 NN NFL mock draft: With the fifty-sixth pick, the Seattle Seahawks select ...

USA TODAY Sports

The Niners Nation Community Mock Draft moves to pick No. 56, which belongs to the Seattle Seahawks.

We're on to the twenty-fourth pick of the second round, No. 56 overall in the 2013 Niners Nation NFL mock draft. If you missed parts of the first round, check out our entire rundown.

The Seattle Seahawks are now on the clock, and their Niners Nation GM is Roy_from_Israel. With the fifty-sixth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Seahawks select Kawann Short, DT, Purdue.

Explanation: Well, as a Niners fan picking for the Seahawks I would snatch the best long snapper off the board without blinking (Trevor/ Nick, who is that by the way?) but I'm supposed to act like a true Seahawks GM, bummer. The Seahawks situation resembles the Niners situation from a year ago; no pressing needs and no starting jobs to fill. I'm looking at the board and it's like Christmas in April; Santa is dropping first round DT's well into the second round. Even though I'm Jewish, and according to his last name Schneider probably is too, one of the first things you learn as a child is you never say no to presents. So after CAR and MIN took the Williams-es, I'm not saying no, and I'm taking the last present available in Kawann Short.

Nick Chiamardas: Short is believed to have first round talent so snagging him late in the second is a steal, especially considering they don't have a first round pick. Their biggest need is probably defensive tackle and Short is one of the best. He'll provide immediate pass rushing help and he'll fit well into their multiple front scheme. Great pick.
