If anyone is wondering what transpired in the second half of this mock draft, organized by Turf Show Times. The 49ers were represented by JMichael39 and yours truly as the GM. Manraj had to pass on it due to other commitments. Overall, the second day was much better than the first, we filled all the team needs, grabbed some amazing value, and had some fun.
The first 3 rounds of the draft can be found here:
#31 DJ Hayden, CB, Houston
#34 Eric Reid, FS, LSU
#44 Kawann Short, DT, Purdue
#73 Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
#128 Joseph Fauria, TE, UCLA
He was the best TE remaining on board, and we rated him higher than most scouting sites. He got injured at the East-West Shrine game practice, could not run at the Combine, and fall like a meteor on the draft boards. He provides a perfect red zone target by his 6'7" presence.
#131 Xavier Nixon, OT, LSU
He was the highest rated swing tackle on our board, we decided to make sure we get him.
#173 LaVar Edwards, DE, LSU
We were pretty high on him, even considered drafting him instead of his LSU teammate. Was a can't miss value at this point.
#180 Marcus Davis, WR, West Virginia
Here is a big fast guy everyone wanted.
#237 A.J. Francis, NT, Maryland
He need to bulk up for NT, but he can provide an inside pass pressure.
#246 Chris Gragg, TE/HB, Arkansas
Hey, other 31 teams. What happened to your draft boards? At worst, he will get poached from our practice squad. At best , he is another big fast guy who could play H-back/TE/WR.
#252 P. J. Lonergan, C, LSUA center who could hopefully fill the backup role when Goodwin leaves.
