2013 NN NFL mock draft: With the sixtieth pick, the Atlanta Falcons select ...

Rick Scuteri-US PRESSWIRE

The Niners Nation Community Mock Draft moves to pick No. 60, which belongs to the Atlanta Falcons.

We're on to the twenty-eighth pick of the second round, No. 60 overall in the 2013 Niners Nation NFL mock draft. If you missed parts of the first round, check out our entire rundown.

The Atlanta Falcons are now on the clock, and their Niners Nation GM is socalisteph. With the sixtieth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Falcons select Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon State.

Explanation: Poyer is a talented prospect and has tremendous upside. With an obvious need at CB, Atlanta would be wise to obtain the best available. Poyer shows great instincts and has good interception abilities. He is smart and reads exceptionally well. I see him better suited in zone coverage and believe Atlanta is a perfect fit. He can be tough and shows good fundamentals. With the obvious holes at CB and being a second round caliber pick, the Atlanta Falcons choose Jordan Poyer.

Trevor Woods: The Falcons miss D.J. Hayden by one pick, but still find a quality corner. Physical and smart, Jordan Poyer will improve a mediocre Falcons secondary. Poyer compares to Cortland Finnegan and has great instincts and awareness. Poyer will need to work on his tackling if he wants to find success in the NFL, as it is not sound and can be a bit sloppy. Besides the tackling issue, Poyer can do everything else well and can jump right into a zone or man scheme. If the Falcons are to compete for Lombardi Trophy, they will have to improve their defense, and the first two picks will do that.
