Final Mock Draft

I would start off by saying "I told you so" by all the non DJ Hayden fans thinking they could actually get him in the 6th round. So disrespectful! But any ways here is my last mock draft. Same main needs of FS, DE, TE, and ST (special teams). Good luck to you all. The draft is finally here.

(1) 31 Jonathan Cyprien S 6'0 217lbs Florida International University (I wrote what Trent Baalke said about safeties just in case someone doesn't believe that safeties need to be versatile in playing FS or SS)

Baalke said “In this day and age, the way the game has changed, you want guys on the field that can cover,” Baalke said. “The old box safety that you used to hear about, the guy that would invert down and play the run, the way the offense is playing now, they’ve kind of made that guy a dinosaur in today’s game. If he’s on the field, he’s easy to find. And what you want to do is create a balanced attack defensively so you don’t have to get into all these sub-packages and change personnel.”

Baalke mentioned Trenton Robinson’s versatility – noting he’s physical in the run game (“he’s not afraid to mix it up”) and has solid coverage skills (he’s “shown the ability to make some things happen in the back half”).

(2) 34 Cornellius Carradine DE 6'4 276 Florida State

He could possibly be a late first round pick but if not this is a steal in the 2nd round. If anyone else fell I would love to have Eddie Lacy or DJ Hayden. Don't sleep on Lacy. Gore is turning the deadly 30!
