I had what I thought an interesting idea this morning in regards to the draft and the talk of the Niners moving up to the 13th pick in the draft. I understand and would be happy with this move for Star or Sheldon as many have stated.
One strange scenario that I concocted. The Jets pick Ansah with the 9th pick eliminating their desire for a top tier pass rusher at 13. They do not feel Rhodes or a safety give them any value and want to move the pick towards the back end of Rd 1 to draft a DB. Star and Williams are both taken through 12 picks. Would the Niners entertain trading up for someone like Barkevious Mingo? Are we paying Brooks too much to make this a possibility? Is Mingo a big enough impact player that having him and Aldon on opposite sides of the field create havoc for other teams? Is a great pass rush what we need to put us over the top?
What are your thoughts on this scenario?
As an aside, I know many people out there are providing lists of underrated, overrated, crushes, and mocks. Here is just a list of TEs that I think we can that present good value based upon where the mocks have them going.
Kelce, McDonald, Sims, Cunningham, Gragg, Escobar, Fauria.
Cunningham is getting no love, and I think he has some potential.
