The 2013 NFL Draft is a wrap, and I thought I'd put together a quick rundown of the current 49ers roster. This reflects all 11 draft picks, and I have also included undrafted rookie free agents connected to the 49ers. Matt Maiocco indicated deals have in fact been agreed to, but things sometimes change, so I have placed *** next to their name.
This list is strictly in alphabetical order, so please do not read into the listing of players. The roster includes 64 players signed to contracts, plus 11 currently unsigned draft picks, plus ten undrafted rookie free agents who have reportedly agreed to terms, but have not put pen to paper. That puts the 49ers at 85 players. They are allowed up to 90 players, not including those in for a basic tryout. So, Nate Montana will not count toward the 90-man roster at his rookie minicamp tryout May 10-12.
That means the 49ers have five roster spots still available. Some people are asking if they will sign Charles Woodson. I would be pretty surprised by that, although for a veteran minimum deal, I suppose anything is possible. They do not have to sign the full 90 players, but I imagine they will add a few more players between now and training camp.
In the coming days and weeks, we'll have plenty of roster projections and bubble watch articles. For now, this is just meant to show what the 49ers roster looks like as currently situated.
