Are the 49ers WRs cursed?

(Let's hope new 49er Anquan Boldin doesn't fall victim to the No. 81 curse like Rashaun Woods and Antonio Bryant did)

Seriously, are the 49ers cursed at the WR position? We've talked about the curse of 49ers players that wear the number 81 (e.g. Braylon Edwards) but how many have we lost over the years to injury? Think back to Josh Morgan, Mario Manningham, Kyle Williams, Ted Ginn Jr., and now we lose Michael Crabtree to a torn achilles?

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

And just when Crabtree was coming off a career year with over 1,000+ yards receiving, the first 49er to do so in nearly a decade! Maybe this is the red & gold version of the Curse of the Bambino, except it's the curse of Jerry Rice. We all know how a then messy front office showed him the door back in 2000 even though he was still a top notch receiver and the GOAT!

Maybe you think this is all just bad luck, coincidence, or whatever, but for a team that's been mostly a 'running' team for the past 10 years, it's incredibly unusual to have this many injuries at the wide-receiver position.

Anyways, I'm ticked because it's taken this team forever to develop a legitimate No. 1 receiver, and I really thought Crabtree was going to be that guy after this past season ...UGH!!!
