1981 NFC Championship Game, After The Catch

I feel very glad to have found this blog, so I decided I would share the knowledge that I have gained that others may not have, or for those who would like a refresher.

I was not around during the 49ers first 4 Superbowls, and I was just a baby when Steve Young did his thing for the 5th Superbowl win.

I am however a huge fan, just like everyone who might be reading this. I found the recent "What moment in 49ers history would you change?" post to be absolutely insightful. There are so many monumental plays that I was unaware of, that the people of Niners Nation shared with everyone.

To that, I just decided to wander the web in search of the GOOD moments, and remembered I had always heard that THE CATCH would never have meant anything had it not been for the cowboys fumble afterwards.

Like i said, I had HEARD about it, but never saw it.

To this i give you :

AFTER The Catch

This youtube clip shows the ensuing kick-off and the drive. I must say, if you haven't seen it for whatever reasons, whether you're a new fan, or you were too young to be there, I HIGHLY recommend it. (well, of course i recommend it, that's the whole point of this post, right?)

and just in case you want to actually watch the catch, here is that famous 90 yard drive by Joe Montana.

I'm sure I'll "catch" up to knowing all the 49ers famous/infamous plays, but right now, the knowledge Niners Nation provides me with is incredibly invaluable.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.
