So, what made Delanie Walker good?
1) He could block well, which is good for blocking (duh) and for making defenses think its a run
2) He could line up inside or outside and get open (somewhat) because he was fast and defenses would play closer up for the run because of (1) above
3) He could run the sweep and actually get a few yards as a running back
Guys, Vernon Davis does all those things better + he doesnt have the dropsies! 85 is a beast and the reason for his sever production drop is because he is such a good blocker and ALWAYS lines up inside where the LB zones or double teams take hold of him.
I envision Roman unleashing Vernon the way he was supposed to unleashed and put Vance inside more often. I would LOVE to see Vernon getting a fly sweep etc
