So apparently the San Francisco 49ers are still interested in wide receiver Austin Collie. Personally, I hope he doesn't end up in San Francisco, but not because I have any doubts as to his playing ability (just his health, really), but more so due to the fact that his signing would come part-way through or at the end of training camp.
And his signing would mean that the 49ers didn't see what they needed to see out of A.J. Jenkins, Quinton Patton or perhaps recovering receivers Kyle Williams and Mario Manningham. These guys need to succeed, because Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis just won't cut it if we're hoping to see Colin Kaepernick make any meaningful contribution.
