Because Pre-season is STILL 2+ weeks away dangit!

A discussion prompted by NinerRabid Here

Rabid asked what it would take for the Niners to draft Clowney. I didn't read any further than that cause I really don't know who Clowney is, so I assumed at that point that Rabid was meaning "The #1 Overall Pick for 2014". That started me thinking what it WOULD take to control that pick.

So I did a little research using Jason's pages (Here!) and OTC (There) {as an aside, if you haven't bookmarked these 2 sites you damn well should!). Here are a couple of things I came up with.... RAIDERS-BEARS-JETS-JAGS.

Team - #players -Tot Sal

Raiders - 31- $51,897// Bears - 35 - $83,432// Jets - 42 - $97,171// Jags - 46 - $93,641

To me those are the 4 weakest teams with both roster and cap room to work with. So potentially I think all 4 of those teams are where some horse trading could happen (as well as all 4 being top 10 draft pick candidates!). Raiders have an absolute boatload of Cap to work with next year but also need to fill out 20 roster slots! The Jags, however, have 46 guys already on the roster and STILL have under $100M in cap, so THERE I think is the sweet spot to work with (Tottenham? not withstanding because of new cap rules?)

I know that doesn't cover off-season cuts etc, but it is a place to start and unless Harbs let's me into practices I have nothing better to do!

So is there some room to trade either before this season starts or before next year's draft to move some $$$ off the books (?Ahmad?) as well as pick up multiple draft picks in 2014/ 2015 (?or dare I say 2016?)

That should give us an extra day to waste before pre season!
