Kyle Williams, Darius Fleming activated off 49ers Active/PUP list

The San Francisco 49ers activated Kyle Williams and Darius Fleming off the PUP list. What does it mean for these two, as well as two other roster moves?

A week after placing eight players on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform and Active/Non-Football Injury lists, the 49ers have made some adjustments. The team announced WR Kyle Williams and LB Darius Fleming have both been activated off the Active/PUP list. Additionally, WR Michael Crabtree was officially placed on the Active/PUP list, and NT Lamar Divens was placed on the Active/NFI list.

The Williams activation is not surprising, as he has been chomping at the bit to get back on the field. He has repeatedly stated that he is ready to go, and all would appear to be well following his training camp physical. He is in a sizable competition for playing time opposite Anquan Boldin, as well as potential punt return work.

Fleming tweaked his knee in the offseason workout program, and we were left to wonder what it meant. This early activation is huge for Fleming, as it means he can get right in and compete for a roster spot. He sat out last season with a torn ACL, and missing significant time in training camp would have been a huge setback. He has a lot of work in front of him, but getting on the field is a step in the right direction.

The Crabtree news is not surprising, as Coach Harbaugh indicated the wide receiver would be placed on the PUP list. Socalisteph broke down the implications of this move, and what we might expect from the 49ers as they figure out the rehab timeline.

There is no word on what is ailing Divens, although he did miss some camp after his skirmish with teammate Ahmad Brooks. We won't get specifics from Harbaugh, but we'll see if any word leaks on the specifics for Divens.
