Earlier this week, I was contacted about an event this coming Wednesday that will feature 49ers Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. The event is organized by Intel, and is called "Inside the Huddle: Unlocking Fantasy Football Intelligence". The event will feature a panelists discussing the way data is used by fans for fantasy football, and football in general. The panel will include Rice, Intel's Boyd Davis, John Pollard of STATS and Kevin Meers, president of Harvard College Sports Analysis Collective.
The event is this Wednesday, August 28 from 4-6pm at Pedro's Cantina on 128 King Street in San Francisco. More importantly, we've got ten tickets to give away. If you're in the Bay Area and want to go to the event this Wednesday, let me know in the comments. I'll leave the comments open until 5:00 p.m. PT tomorrow (so, just before kickoff of Sunday Night Football). If we have more people interested, I'll do a random drawing. We can give these out as one ticket or two tickets per person, so let me know if you want to bring somebody with you.
Rice will be at the event from 4-6 p.m. The panel starts at 4, and there will be open Q&A. From 5-6 p.m., there will be food and drinks, and a chance to try out some of the Intel devices. Rice will be doing some mingling at the event, but there are no guarantees you'll get to meet him. That being said, it should be a fun and interesting event.
If you're interested in one or two tickets, let me know in the comments. Again, if more people are interested than tickets available, I'll do a random draw. I'll accept entries until 5:00 p.m. PT Sunday.
