The San Francisco 49ers are wrapping up their 2013 preseason schedule, and as is often the case, there will be numerous starters not taking part in the game. According to the beat writers in attendance, Eric Reid, Donte Whitner, Carlos Rogers, Tarell Brown, Aldon Smith, NaVorro Bowman, Ahmad Brooks, Ray McDonald and Justin Smith are all sitting out on the defensive side of the ball. That leaves Ian Williams in the lineup, and everybody else will be backups.
Matt Maiocco tweeted that Anquan Boldin would also sit out. He also said that Colin Kaepernick and LaMichael James were in uniform and warming up, but there was no word on if they would play. Odds are pretty slim Kaepernick sees the field, and I would imagine the same would hold true for LaMichael James. While Kaepernick would be held out to keep him healthy, James would be held out in part because of health and in part because he's gotten plenty of preseason work.
Most interesting might be that there is no sign of Seneca Wallace at warmups. I imagine he will play, but we'll see what's up exactly as the game approaches.
Fooch's Update:
Senecca Wallace's NFL career may be over. Not warming up. Heard a rumor he was hanging it up today.

Gotta love paying full price for this.
