Offense Dead?

The equipment is there for a dynasty-class offense. Solid defense more than adequate to play a supporting role. But the offensive coordinator has injected doubt and timidity. He has abandoned the middle of the field. He has somehow taken the 'push' out of the 'O'line and they are back on their heels. And worst of all, he has 'coached' Keap into mediocracy by attempting to turn him into Alex Smith. You know you can feel it. It is the offensive (in every sense of that word) coaching and play calling.

In the hyper-conservative 'Smith Game' he strips all the pulsating power and energy from Kaep's game. Do we want a guy looking to take a knee, a sideline, or a slide in order to protect himself for the future. There is no future in this 'testament to mediocrity ' that is the 49er offense.

How did it happen so fast, be so ingrained so swiftly? Mark my word, unless they dump Greg Roman's pathetic style in favor of someone with real creative impulses and intelligence, the 9ers and Kaep are dead. Going nowhere fast.

They play like they are sleepwalking, like they deserve better but something is holding them back. Roman's got to go. Or if it is Harbaugh and ownership telling them to 'protect' him, they are going to 'protect' him into a trade or early retirement. It is an unparalleled example of weak coaching and it must stop.

Let's start by introducing the offense to the middle of the field and tell the O-line to drop the piano and get to work. Keep it up and Kaep will lose his confidence and the world will pass him by.

We are looking at an 8-8 season. Mark my word.
