Were the other WRs open vs the Colts like everyone says? (2nd Half)

Q3 12:39

3rd & 4

Down 10-7

Before:

Marlon Moore on the left one on one.

After:

Marlon Moore runs a comeback route. If he actually kept going this would have been a TD. He works back to Kaepernick and had a separation of 2 or 3 yards.

Result: Kaepernick tackled short of marker. Punt.

Q3 6:46

1st & 10

Down 13-7

Before:

McDonald lines up in the slot.

Middle:

McDonald runs up the right sideline. The safety follows Boldin inside and the corner is trailing Boldin too. McDonald is free. But Kaepernick steps to his left instead of his right. Anthony Davis guy is on the floor. If Kaepernick goes right he buys enough time for McDonald and this could have been a TD.

After:

This just shows you how free he was. The only guy close is the one near the 40 yard number and he is following Boldin.

Result: 2nd & 10 and on the very next play.

Q3 6:40

2nd & 10

Down 13-7

Before:

Gore in the backfield

After:

Gore sneaks out. No-one within 10 yards of him. Busted coverage.

Result: Eventually we get the 1st down.

Q4 12:41

1st & 10

Down 13-7 after a missed FG by the Colts

Before:

Boldin out wide. Miller goes into the slot.

After:

Boldin does a basic crossing route and is wide open. He is directly in the view of Kaepiernick, who ends up throwing to Celek who is going down the field but the corner has inside safety help. Conservatively, if Boldin got the ball he would have made it 2& 5 by just falling over after the catch.

Result: 3 and out.

From the first half.
