The San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers released their inactives, and as expected, cornerback Carlos Rogers is inactive for the game. Rogers suffered a hamstring strain late in the 49ers Week 17 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He has not practiced in two week, and was inactive last week against the Packers. Perrish Cox will likely play in his place when the 49ers go to the nickel. According to PFF's Jeff Deeney, when the Panthers go into three receiver sets, Brandon LaFell goes in the slot 63 percent of the time. Steve Smith is there 15.5 percent of the time, and Ted Ginn Jr. is in there 12.9 percent of the time.

Speaking of Panthers receivers, Steve Smith is active for the game, as expected. This is the franchise's first playoff game since 2009, and I don't think there was any chance Smith was going to sit it out. He has been playing games this week with percentages of confidence in his knee, so we're left without a clear idea of where he is at. He strained his PCL in Week 16, sat out Week 17, and had the bye to get healthy. His movement will be something to watch today.

49ers inactives: CB Carlos Rogers, TE Derek Carrier, LB Nick Moody, G Ryan Seymour, DT Quinton Dial, G Joe Looney and WR Jon Baldwin

Panthers inactives: WR Tavarres King, WR Marvin McNutt, CB Josh Norman, RB Jonathan Stewart, LB Dan Connor, OL Travis Bond, DE Wes Horton
