After the San Francisco 49ers took down the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Colin Kaepernick conducted his usual post-game press conference. He was wearing an orange vest and red cap flipped at an angle. The angled cap got one person in a huff, which led SB Nation's Spencer Hall to provide an important tutorial on hat angles.
Kap gets some crap from people on occasion about his post-game attire. While he certainly could choose to wear a suit or something else, his choice of clothes last Sunday had a specific meaning.
CSN's Casey Pratt tipped us off to this. Apparently, Jeremiah Jones is a 13-year old designer, and he actually designed that vest. Jones and Kap both have November birthdays, and Jones decided to send the vest to Kap for his birthday. He never heard back, but instead was surprised to see Kap rocking the vest in the press conference. He's got a lot of publicity for it, and rightfully so.
So, once again national media, think before you say something about Kap. He's not some fool disrespecting an old man's game. Too many people judge this book by its cover, and it can be utterly infuriating. He doesn't need to shout and scream about his good deeds. Yes, that is in reference to Russell Wilson. I don't believe Russell Wilson is a phony, as some do think, but just because Kap doesn't promote himself in the manner we see of Wilson, it doesn't make him any less of a good person.
Good on you, Kap. You can check out Jeremiah's work at JYoungin.com.
