My Two Cents on Richard Sherman
There are two sides to every story. Yes Richard Sherman is a great player who probably shouldn’t have shouted at Erin Andrews after the game. Yes, everyone needs to calm down, including me, regarding their vitriol towards him. This was a great game with a lot of emotion. Many of the stories coming out today are in support of Sherman, saying he is a great guy off the field, he has overcome a lot, he is constantly proving himself etc.... Others are calling the hatred towards him racism, and malicious. There are always outlier fans, those who take it too far, like the fans who threw food on Bowman as he was being carted off the field.
The whole situation for me is this. I am a 49er fan, and I am sad and angry that my team lost. I would have quietly walked away if: A, I hadn’t been watching the game with a bunch of hawk fans, and B, I didn’t see Sherman running his mouth. What he did with that is draw all of the attention to himself. He gained over 300,000 twitter followers since his post-game comments. I’m sure it was something he did calculatedly. As his nemesis Crabtree said, "He is a TV guy". It just sucks to lose to your enemy, and for many 49er fans, Sherman is our enemy, along with Carroll. Those two are the ones we like the least.
Anyways, hopefully I stop feeling angry over this situation soon, and move on. And many 49ers feel the same way. What really sucks, is that it is going to be 9 months before the 49ers get a chance at revenge.
