I been a long time reader of this site but never wrote but I felt compelled like Tom Cruise in "Jerry Maguire" to write something. Been a 49ers fan since January of '82. I been there for the 5 rings and been there for our 2 wins season. Two ago we were two fumbles and a non call strip fumble away from making our first Super Bowl appearance since the 90's. Tough way to end a game, that hurt a bit. Last year we came a Bruce Miller mugging and a controversial holding call in the end zone from winning it all! Pain was present for days, was in the fetal position for hours after the lost. I thought no way we make the playoffs the following year, there must be a Superbowl hangover... but just like Rocky Balboa in Rocky 4, we take all that abuse and fall to the mat only to get back on our feet!! Relentless. This year probably hurts more then the other two, probably because its fresher, its against over division rivals, we out played them, their 12th man wasn't a issue and because of what Sherman said and gestured towards us. If the 49ers next year, some how rise to the top, it will be amazing and shocking to the sports world. 1st money is going to become an issue in trying to keep the same core of players together. 2nd the pressure is building up on Kaepernicks shoulder, that he cant win the "big one". And 3rd like Danny Larusso in Karate Kid, when we see the Seahawks we will always know the have the best of us until we beat them...(where is Mr.Myagee when we need him?). In closing, the passion that burns inside me for this team is greater in the hearts of those 53 men that dress up every Sunday and play for the number 1 fans. Its only fitting that next years Superbowl is number 49 and it will be played and won by a team called the 49ers.
