The 49ers coaching staff looks to be mostly intact for the 2014 season, with Greg Roman, Vic Fangio and Jim Tomsula all coming up short for potential head coaching opportunities. That being said, Jim Harbaugh will have a spots to replace. Stanford University announced that 49ers defensive assistant/outside linebackers Peter Hansen will be returning to the university as inside linebackers coach.
Hansen spent the last three seasons on Jim Harbaugh's 49ers staff. Prior to that, he was a defensive assistant at Stanford in 2009 and 2010. Hansen joins former offensive assistant Paul Wulff and co-OL coach Tim Drevno in returning to the college ranks. Wulff is taking over as offensive coordinator for the University of South Florida. Drevno is taking over as offensive line coach for USC. There is no word yet on any replacements for these positions.
