My Pre-Every Important Off-Season Event Mock Draft

Let's begin, shall we? Shall we?!! This box contains over 217 bits and pieces of information. Evidence ... Okay, on to the mock. This mock draft is assuming a couple of things that are, of course, unknown at this point: 1) the free agents the team retains are Boldin, Cox, Dawson, Osgood, and Wilhoite. The rest walk:

Mario Manningham (WR)

Demarcus Dobbs (DE/TE)

Donte Whitner (SS)

Colt McCoy (QB)

Anthony Dixon (RB/FB)

Tarell Brown (CB)

Eric Wright (CB)

Jonathan Goodwin (C)

2) The team cuts Adam Snyder (G), Carlos Rogers (CB) and A.J. Jenk ... I mean Jonathan Baldwin (WR). Obviously, the team will sign some free agents to fill some holes, but as with our own free agents, we don't yet know who will be signed.

I've noted the picks that were the result of a trade up/down, but I didn't feel like spending time explaining how the team gets there, their trading partner, what future picks they received, etc. Though, it’s obvious what picks they don’t have as a result of trades (no 1st, no 7ths). This mock tries to fill some big/partial holes (both real and, as detailed above, predicted holes). Maybe more holes than some folks would think necessary, but I’m assuming there won’t be much money to bring in outside free agents, so the team will be relying quite heavily on some of these draftees making some kind of impact in 14-15. I’ve also noted what players I think are drafted to start/contribute, drafted for depth/competition, and/or drafted to fill a future need.

I’m no Mel Kiper, Jr., Todd McShay, or someone who really knows what he is doing, so if something is outrageously unrealistic, then I guess I owe you my first born (which is due May 1!). Oh, a few more sarcastic thoughts:

· Kap sucks

· Alex Smith is way better and never throws picks

· There’s nothing left in Frank’s Tank

· Greg Roman is head coach material

· Lawrence Okoye is the next Bruce Smith

· Justin Smith really controls the offense

· Michael Crabtree is a sorry-ass receiver … and,

· All of the guys below are "OF" (Our Future), so don’t you dare say they are not:

Round 2: SS Deone Bucannon, 6'0" 216 lbs., 4.57-40 time, Washington State (trade down) [starter]

Round 2: CB Lamarcus Joyner, 5'7" 190 lbs., 4.52-40 time, Florida State [starter]

Round 2: WR Martavis Bryant, 6'4" 200 lbs., 4.38-40 time, Clemson [contributor]

Round 3: CB Keith McGill, 6'3" 214 lbs., 4.49-40 time, Utah (trade up) [contributor]

Round 3: C Weston Richburg, 6'3" 300 lbs., 5.18-40 time, Colorado State [depth/competition]

Round 3: ILB Christian Jones, 6'3" 234 lbs., 4.64-40 time, Florida State [contributor/depth]

Round 3: QB David Fales, 6'1" 220 lbs., 4.93-40 time, San Jose State [depth]

Round 4: DE Josh Mauro, 6'5" 276 lbs., 4.98-40 time, Stanford [future]

Round 5: CB Aaron Colvin, 5'11" 186 lbs., 4.48-40 time, Oklahoma (trade down) [future]

Round 6: WR L’Damian Washington, 6'3" 205 lbs., 4.39 40-time, Missouri [depth/future]
