Every week, I get random emails from a whole range of people offering up some product or service. Often times it is a chance to talk to some random "expert" about some topic of the day. Other times it is a chance to review some sports-related book (and sometimes non-sports books). And finally, there are times like this.
The folks at San Francisco Brewing Co. emailed me to let me know they had developed a Niner Nation IPA following the 49ers win over the Green Bay Packers. It was not named after our site, but rather as a tribute to all the 49ers fans out there.
San Francisco Brewing Co. is San Francisco-based, and currently has two other beers in production, Alcatraz Amber and Marina Blonde. The NN IPA is available on draft at Giordano Bros. in the Mission and The Republic in the Marina. I don't think I've been to Giordano Bros., but I have been to The Republic, and I highly recommend it.
In his press release about the beer, brewmaster Josh Leavy said, "I wanted to create a bold beer that celebrates San Francisco's beloved 49ers and to encourage them as they make their way to the playoffs." He describes the beer as an "easy to drink Indian Pale Ale [that] is crisp and refreshing and full of flavorful hops, hops and more hops!"
If you get a chance to get to Giordano Bros. or The Republic, get a picture drinking the Niner Nation IPA!
