The San Francisco 49ers invested in a miniature basketball hoop for the locker room at Santa Clara, and it has become a prominent part of the social media world. Quinton Patton seems to be the primary culprit in promoting #dunkcam. Every few weeks he posts a new #dunkcam video showing a player getting dunked on without having a clue that it's about to happen. Here is Patton's latest #dunkcam video.
It appears #dunkcam is going a little more mainstream. Cam Inman got this video of Alex Boone dunking on Colin Kaepernick just as Kap's regular Wednesday locker room interview wrapped up. According to Taylor Price, Luke Marquardt is the man holding up the garbage can for the improvised #dunkcam.
This is silly and amusing, but I love seeing the team looking so loose in advance of their divisional round matchup. This is a team with what is now extensive playoff experience, and they know what to expect. You never want the team not taking a game seriously, but I don't think that is the case for this team. The 49ers are confident in their abilities, and ready for a solid Panthers team.
The line is swinging all over the place. It opened as a pick 'em, moved to 49ers -2 1/2, and now in some places it is back at pick 'em. It will be a tough game, but I think being relatively loose in practice this week will benefit the 49ers.
