Getting ahead of ourselves, aren't we?

I just got a FedEx package on my front porch. It contained a nice red box with the words Playoff Tickets embossed across the front. Inside, tucked in a shiny red envelope, our 4 tickets with the words "The Quest Continues" printed in bold letters. An artistic image of Candlestick and the "Farewell Season" logo are prominently centered on the ticket. On the bottom third is advertised the 28th playoff game at Candlestick Park and my seat location. This is a really beautiful ticket, but there is one problem. The 49ers don't have a home playoff game, at least not yet. I'm not sure anyone has told our front office this yet!

In today's world of instant download and next day delivery, the 49ers front office could have waited until Monday morning to send out tickets for a game that is for sure going to be played. Instead, they opted to send out tickets to a game that we all hope will be played but is far from being set in stone. I'm not superstitious, but I think it's a bit presumptuous to print and deliver the tickets before the game is actually on.

Here they are:
