With no game action this week, the 49ers are left to healing, practicing and positioning. There are a significant number of lingering things that need to improve like Vernon Davis', Anthony Davis' and Tramaine Brock's health. They were all active last Sunday, but clearly not at full strength. There are also the impending returns of Marcus Martin, Aldon Smith, and Marcus Lattimore. The team also expects Glenn Dorsey and NaVorro Bowman to be back a few weeks later.
The other thing to work out is which positions need to be strengthened with the impending roster moves. The 49ers are deep at both the defensive line and outside linebacker positions, so rumors are circulating about possible moves to trade the excess depth. Names like Lemonier, Skuta, Jerrod-Eddie, and others have been whispered about. Let's see if Trent Baalke can grab any more of his favorite late round draft picks.
