Happy Saturday everyone, we are just about a full year away from next years Superbowl. So, you know. Celebrate! I'm still bitter about the NFCCG so I haven't been paying much attention and thus don't have too much to say about the big game. I'll just stick with the obligatory go Broncos!
The offseason got off to a weird start yesterday when reserve offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore was busted in his hometown of Kingsport, Tennessee for public intoxication. We don't have all the facts yet but it sounds like he and a friend were walking home (as opposed to driving) when they were busted by a police officer apparently for "their safety and the welfare of the public." I'm raising my hand now on this, I'm guilty of being out late and drunk on a few occasions myself, so I'm not sure I'm in any position to judge him. My hometown of Elk Grove is bigger than Kingsport though the population of 150,000 still probably can't be considered a "big city." I know from experience that Its extremely difficult to call a cab in smaller cities, It just takes a really long time for them to get there. I have to wonder if the cop would have busted them for loitering under the influence instead of walking under the influence should they have waited an hour for their cab out in public.
Kaepernick surprised me yesterday when he talked to Bill Simmons of grantland.com on his podcast. Our QB spoke for an unprecedented 42 minutes and It's surprisingly worth the listen. I only say surprising because he is notoriously tight lipped and boring to members of the media. It was really refreshing to hear him open up this week even if some of the stuff he talked about (Sherman) seemed petty. The BS Report: Colin Kaepernick
BASG makes his Superbowl prediction and gives an old guy rant on some of our players. I wasn't aware of the Vernon Davis interview where he said he wanted to play with Peyton Manning before his career was over. Super Bowl prediction and contest winners announcement (BASG)

The Secondary is one of the more interesting position groups for us this offseason. Donte Whitner and Tarell Brown are both free agents and Carlos Rogers makes way too much money for his production. Personally, I like the idea of a Culliver Brock starting duo. Still, we probably have to draft a corner/safety/both fairly early in the draft.
