Who stays? Who goes? and who is brought in? This are the questions asked every off-season and it seems like Trent Baalke has done a nice job of answering it every time. When Jim Harbaugh first came in, the biggest question was whether Alex Smith would remain the starting QB or would the 49ers looked outside. The team decided to keep him and that turned out very well. The following season, it was who could the 49ers bring in at wide receiver? Mario Manningham came in and although he had some success, that eventually did not pan out for the best. Last year, the biggest decision was whether to keep Dashon Goldson or not and Baalke pretty much hit a home run on that by replacing him with rookie Eric Reid. The other key acquisitions were Anquan Boldin and Phil Dawson, who proved to be huge factors for the 49ers doing so well last year. This year, we are again looking at the secondary with the statuses of Donte Whitner, Tarell Brown, and Carlos Rogers all up in the air. It's extremely possible that all three will not be with the team next year, although Brown probably has the best chance of coming back.
