Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton prepare to co-host Hall of Game Awards Show on Cartoon Network

Kevin C. Cox

If you're sitting around looking for something to do tonight, flip over to Cartoon Network at 7 p.m. (in all time zones). Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton will be co-hosting the Hall of Game Awards Show this evening, and I figured why not have an open thread?

Kap and Cam were both drafted in 2011, but had not spent a lot of time together prior to this event. They weren't strangers to each other, but they weren't bosom buddies. Tonight we get to see them interacting with each other, and generally having a good time.

The two of them had a great interview Sunday evening on ESPN's Sunday Conversation. We have some video of it HERE. There was also some fun social media stuff from what appears to be a Red Carpet event earlier today:

I know some old school journalists would bitch and complain about how these two portray themselves, but I love the idea of two young guys having a good time. I particularly like the first picture of Kap doing the Superman and Cam doing the Kaepernicking. It's two guys having a good time, even if there are people out there who will jump to ridiculous conclusions about anything and everything.

I'm going to be away from my TV at 7, so I've got my DVR set. I'm going to see about potentially grabbing some video from the show, but in the meantime, make sure and check it out.
