Good morning, everybody! The links are coming a little later than normal, but with all the content out there, you'll still want to check them out. The focus is on the NFL Combine, but of course there are also some links regarding Colin Kaepernick contract extension talks, and the Jim Harbaugh stuff.
One of the most interesting from the Combine material is Chris Biderman's report that the 49ers have generally kept their scouts home from the Combine. He said the decision is because Combine information can be gathered remotely, and this allows the scouts to spend this week watching film and further refining their draft board in that regard. The Combine instead gives Trent Baalke and the coaches time to meet with players and get their own assessment. The coaches have spent all season focused on the present, and not getting a chance to see a lot of these college prospects.
Saturday also marked Michael Sam's appearance with the media. He got 31 questions, and only 8 were related to football. This isn't surprising, but hopefully the media is getting this out of their system. He's an intriguing prospect if only because he doesn't fit a lot of molds. He would seem to fit best in a 4-3, but who knows who he'll end up being used.
