2014 49er Mock Draft with analysis... comments please

Rd1. – Trade up for (if necessary) Wr Marqise Lee USC - I see this as a great option with all of the picks we have stacked up. Lee can play outside or play on the slot at Wr. He didn’t do great at the combine but his film says enough. He has explosion, can go deep and short, and has the ability to turn a hitch into a 50 yard gain. He also can return punts and kicks. Lee is also a Cali kid so he will be right at home.

Alternative Pick(s): Wr Kelvin Benjamin FSU. Wr Brandin Cooks Oregon State. Odell Beckham Jr LSU

Rd2. – Trade up for (swap 2nd and give up 4th) CB Bradley Roby OSU or Kyle Fuller – Roby’s a bit small but he’s extremely athletic. He as the mental edge that fits our scheme and would be a solid pick up. If Fuller – he has great technique and played for a powerhouse defense. Shut down Alabama’s Amari Cooper (first round project in 2015 draft).

Alternative Pick(s): CB Jason Verrett TCU. CB Kyle Fuller VT (if available)

. - SS Deon Bucannon WSU – Although I think we should resign Donte Whitner (Franchise tag if necessary). I still like Bucannon as a prospect. Very productive and hits hard. If Whitner is tagged, then we can use Bucannon on special teams and mold him into a starter for the next year.

Alternative Pick(s): SS Jimmie Ward Northern Illinois. Craig Loston LSU

. - CB Loucheiz Purifoy FLA – An extremely athletic corner that didn’t do his best at the NFL combine; his stock dropped because of this. He will probably have a strong pro day and has the potential to be a steal in the 3rd round.

Alternative Pick(s): DT Dominque Easley FLA. CB Stanley Jean Baptiste Nebraska. CB Jaylen Watkins FLA. CB Keith McGill UT.

Rd3. 94 - Wr Martavis Bryant Clemson – We could double up at Wr if Bryant is still around. 6’4 with a 40 inch vertical. Has monster potential and is a major deep ball threat.

Alternative Pick(s): CB Stanley Jean Baptiste NU. CB Jaylen Watkins FLA. CB Keith McGill UT.
CB Pierre Desir Lindenwood.

Rd4. 125 – DT Anthony Johnson LSU – Very athletic DT who can thrive in the right system under the right players.

Alternative Pick: DT DaQuan Jones PSU. DT Ego Ferguson LSU. C Marcus Martin USC. C Weston Richburg CSU. C Travis Swanson Arkansas.

Rd5. 158 - RB De’ Anthony Thomas Oregon – Not a lot of places to fit in the system but he can absolutely fly and really improve our return game.

Alternative Pick: RB Dri archer Kent State. QB Logan Thomas VT. WR Josh Huff Oregon. C Bryan Stork FSU

Rd6. 189 - QB Logan Thomas VT – Athletic QB with a strong arm and high potential. Harbaugh has improved QB’s in the past, and can do so in this case as well.

Alternative Pick: FB Trey Millard OU. CB Aaron Colvin OU.

Rd7. 219 - CB Aaron Colvin OU – Quality DB that tore his ACL during practice at the senior bowl. With the lack of roster space he can be put on the IR and make an impact down the road.

Alternative Pick(s): CB Phillip Gaines Rice. TE AC Leonard TSU. ILB Preston Brown Louisville

Rd7. 220 - OL Michael Schofield Michigan – Versatile OL that can play guard and tackle

Alternative Pick(s): ILB Max Bullough MSU. ILB Jack Tyler VT

Rd7. 222 TE Colt Lyerla – Very versatile player with some off the field issues, Talent is undeniable.

Alternative Pick(s): WR L’Damian Washington MIZZOU. OT Wesley Johnson Vanderbilt.
